The Cure Financial Team
Having the right financial plan is just the start to pursuing those goals you’ve been dreaming of. You also need the right team to support you along the way—a team with the knowledge, experience, and commitment to help you pursue your goals.
At Cure Financial, we believe we’ve developed that team. Each of our team members was chosen not just for their financial acumen and years of experience, but for their determination to always put our clients’ needs first. We work together, using our combined knowledge and skills, to provide you with the support you need and the guidance to pursue your goals.
Our Story
Trey’s father, Elmo Cure Jr., started Cure Financial in 1958 to serve his community's life insurance needs. Trey started working with him in 1990 after graduating with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas. In 1996, Trey opened up a branch office with a broker/dealer. Shortly after, he and Elmo brought Alicia Stewart onto the team to support and continue the life insurance side of the firm. While supervising financial advisors, Trey's passion was helping advisors manage their practices practice and leverage their different resources to grow business and serve clients.
Merging of Minds
Trey partnered with former advisor David Hollands in 2001 to support each other's growing financial planning practices. In 2004, David was deployed as an Army Reservist to Afghanistan, serving as the Chief Financial Officer for the embassy in Kabul. While deployed, Trey and David worked together to maintain his clients. Trey's passion for supervision diminished, and he and David started working together to serve mutual clients. David focused on investments and problem solving, and Trey handled the bulk of the financial planning and business management.
Recent Years
In 2020, Trey hired Cammie Hoffman. A fresh graduate of Abilene Christian University at the time, she was a perfect fit to serve many of our firm's needs. Cammie's presence has made a major impact, raising Cure Financial's bar in client service experience and operational efficiency in a significant way.
After a fulfilling career, David retired in 2022 to enjoy a well-deserved new, relaxing lifestyle with his wife. A couple months later, Evan Cure joined the team. Days after graduating with a business degree from Texas A&M University, he hit the ground running to learn the business. His eagerness to support the team and clients in new ways has been a jump-start towards taking our firm to the next level. Additionally, Evan earned his CFP® certification in February of 2024.
The Future
Going forward, we look to hire additional advisers, laddering them by age. Think about this: if someone retires at the age of 65, they would need to hire an advisor who is 35 years old if they expected their advisor to guide them through a 30-year retirement. You don’t want your financial advisor retiring in the middle of your retirement! Obviously, there is concern that a 35-year-old may not have the experience to address all the concerns a new retiree may have. By laddering young financial advisors, we give clients the best of both worlds: experience and continuity through their entire retirement, working with a team that knows them, their history, and their dreams for the future!
